Yesterday I managed to unlock an iPhone so it now works in Uganda. The phone is simply beautiful and I can't wait to get one. I'm now actively seeking one from the U.S of A and selling my Treo 680... All the complicated stuff is going on the Zodiac with all the Palm apps I've bought over the years. Can't wait... Anyone care to recommend a case? Not interested in anything that needs a belt.
Julie, I feel your pain and hope you'll find something soon.
I've anticipated the iPhone's shortcomings by getting a Tapwave Zodiac 2. Yep, I'm back in the Zodiac world (my previous one died quite suddenly) and I must say I'm totally loving it!
I've removed all non-comms apps from the Treo 680 to the Zodiac that I get used to using the PDA for 3rd party apps that might not be included in the iPhone. This includes my password & financial apps. As the iPhone matures, I'll slowly transfer more apps from the Zodiac to it. So for now, the iPhone & Zodiac 2 are my ideal perfect combo...

Julie, congratulations! In the 10 years you've created a must-read site for many of us. Here's a virtual toast to many more years. Yay!
How about showing some love to the revolutionary Nintendo Wii? It seems to be one of the coolest gadgets missing from your collection. It's also got an interesting and growing collection of games and accessories.
Another call is for more iPhone accessories. This an ever growing collection and online reviews are sorely lacking the thoroughness you've gotten us used to.
One site change that would help is the ability to edit comments to your gear diary.
Otherwise an excellent site. And another vote here for follow-ups on existing reviews. Cheers!

I run my own business and I'm at the last stage of migrating to an all Mac environment. I heavily rely on my smartphone, the iPhone for seamless management of my data, schedules and contact. I used the Treo for a long while and had to rebuild my 1000+ address book a number of times because of incompatible field formats. The new MobileMe service is a godsend and that plus the eagerly anticipated apps will the iPhone a powerful business platform. For a dose of Palm goodness I keep my Tapwave Zodiac handy and read the occassional ebook. 10 years ago I was mad at Apple for killing off the Newton - my indispensible PDA for quite a while. Then it was off to the land of Palm and Sony Ericsson. Now I'm back at Apple and could not be happier. I'm fully investing in Apple's vision for desktop and mobile computing and just relishing the ability to trust my data. What a ride ;-))
